We Know What Your Crew Is Up Against

Fence lines are rarely anyone's top priority—until they're the thing costing the most labor.

Every grounds crew has the same problem: fence lines eat hours that could go toward fields, courts, or anything else on the list. UnderFence has been solving this specifically since 2008.

We built it based on direct feedback from maintenance and grounds directors across the country, and we keep refining it. Every improvement to the product has come from direct input from the people maintaining these sites.

Whether you work with us directly or through our partner Pioneer Athletics, the goal is the same: less time on the fence line, more on everything else.

Our distributor program is in development, but leave you're contact information and we'll be in touch.

From Quote to Installed

A straightforward process, whether you're outfitting one field or an entire district.

1

Get a Quote

Tell us your fence type, site details, and total footage. We'll send a formal quote within 1-2 business days.
2

Install It

A crew of four with basic tools can install roughly 1,000 linear feet in about two hours. Many contractors install it alongside new fencing at minimal added cost.
3

Maintain With a Mower, Not a Trimmer

Mow over the edge each season; no more weekly trimming or chemical treatments.
Trusted by Facilities and Grounds Professionals

From school districts to municipal parks, the feedback is the same.

“The biggest advantage for our team is labor savings.

It allows us to mow closer to the fence and eliminate the time going back with string trimmers. It is a simple improvement, but it adds up over the course of the season.”

— School Grounds Supervisor
“With multiple fields and  limited staffing, small time savings add up quickly.

UnderFence has helped reduce trimming around the perimeter fencing and made our normal mowing routine more efficient.”

— Athletic Sports Complex Manager
“We install a lot of aluminum fence. I’ve tried a few other options and, without question, UnderFence is best option in the market.

UnderFence outperforms the competition from all perspectives, including design, appearance, durability, with options, and pricing.”

— Fence Contractor
“After installing UnderFence, we have received lots of positive feedback

that customers appreciate having a permanent clean-cut appearance along fence lines.  Our plan is to use UnderFence for all future fencing.”

— Commercial Property Manager
“Even for smaller properties, string trimming is time-consuming.

UnderFence has helped our crews move through those sites faster  while still leaving a clean, professional result. Our crew mows right along the fence line, and then moves on without needing to string trim. This amount to several hours back each week”

— Landscape Company Owner
“The biggest advantage for our team is labor savings.

It allows us to mow closer to the fence and eliminate the time going back with string trimmers. It is a simple improvement, but it adds up over the course of the season.”

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase UnderFence for a commercial project?
Request a quote with your fence type, total footage, and preferred width. We'll send a formal quote within 1-2 business days. UnderFence is sold directly through MacLean Enterprises, LLC, or through our authorized distributor, Pioneer Athletics.
Do I need to go through Pioneer Athletics?

If you're a new prospective customer in K-12 schools, Parks & Rec, or colleges/universities, Pioneer Athletics is your point of contact for product info, samples, and quotes.

Pricing is the same either way.

All other commercial customers (athletic complexes, municipalities, military, airports, cemeteries, and others) can work with us directly.

How much does UnderFence cost?

Commercial orders are priced by quantity tier, not a flat per-foot rate:

  • Trial (100 linear feet, starts at $700 for 8”)
  • Half Pallet (8 dozen panels, or up to 480 linear feet, starts at $1,800 per half pallet/$225 per dozen for 8”)
  • Full Pallet (16 dozen panels, or up to 960 linear feet, starts at $3,600 per pallet/$205 per dozen for 8”) — includes roughly a 10% price break

Cost per linear foot drops significantly at higher volumes. For example, 16" width runs about $8/LF at trial quantity versus roughly $4.25/LF at full pallet.

Request a quote for exact pricing based on your footage and width.

What width should I choose?
Five widths are available: 8", 12", 16", 24", and 32". The most popular are 12", 16", and 24". Each panel is 5.5 feet long, and two panels typically cover a standard 10-foot fence section.
What fence types does UnderFence work with?

UnderFence is built for commercial chain link fencing, and custom options are available for other fence types.

Ask about your specific application when requesting a quote.

Can UnderFence be installed on existing fencing?
Yes, we recommend at least ½ inch of clearance between the bottom of the fence and the ground. If your fencing is buried into the ground, we don't recommend installation without first creating clearance.
How long does UnderFence last?
Decades. It's made from recycled HDPE with a UV stabilizer, and resists weather, insects, pests, and mold. Installations dating back to 2008 have reported no cracking or breaking.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes, samples include two 16"-wide, 1.5-foot panels with fence-post cutouts, plus rivets, so you can see exactly how it secures to your posts.
What does installation require?
A crew of four with basic tools (power drills and clamps) can install about 1,000 linear feet in roughly two hours. If a fencing contractor is already installing new fencing, they can typically add UnderFence for a minimal additional fee.
